It’s a great honour for us that Janštejn Glassworks was chosen to manufacture a special anniversary auction bottle for the Pilsner Urquell beer brewery.
Each of the ten designer Pilsner Urquell bottles in this year’s Christmas auction for Centrum Paraple has a patron from the ranks of important Czech women who inspire society: athlete and javelin thrower Barbora Špotáková, actor Bára Poláková, rector of Mendel University in Brno Danuše Nerudová, illustrator Eliška Podzimková, biochemist and president of the Czech Academy of Sciences Eva Zažímalová, documentarist Helena Třeštíková, actor, teacher, and diplomat Magda Vašáryová, tapster Martina Navrátilová, priest of the Czechoslovak Hussite Church Martina Viktorie Kopecká, and actor and television presenter Tereza Kostková.
The bottles were designed by renowned Czech designer Lucie Koldova, whose work often draws both on traditional techniques and cutting-edge technologies.
A combination of expression and grace, matte and gloss, this year’s auction bottles are an exquisite example of the precision artistry of Janštejn Glassworks.
The design of the bottles reflects the symbolism of womanhood, mystique, sophistication, and female elegance.
The unveiling ceremony for the auction bottles was hosted by Pilsner Urquell Head Brewmaster Emeritus Václav Berka together with designer Lucie Koldova. It took place on November 4 at Janštejn Glassworks.
